Ember Host is referred to as “Us”, “We”, and “Our”, and Clients as “Customer” “Client”, and “You”. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service. Your information will be used to facilitate our services.
If you have purchased a service or use our services from our website (https://ember.host), we collect, but not limited to, the following information:
- Name
- Address
- IP Address
- Email Address
- Payment Records
We do not store or collect your full payment card details.
Our websites uses Umami, a privacy-preserving analytics service which runs on Ember Host servers. This means that any data collected by Umami is not sent to any third-party services. However, we may also use other third-party services to aid us in providing our services. We do not share your data with third-parties other than in the ways outlined below.
Third-party Data Use
- Discord: We use Discord as a platform to communicate and provide support to customers. Any information shared with any server owned by Ember Host on Discord over either voice or text may be recorded by Discord in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: The billing platform we use to collect payments and prevent fraud. Personal data Stripe receives includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, IP address, and your payment details.
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare as our Content Delivery Network (“CDN”). Cloudflare may retain IP addresses, browser details, and more to ensure the legitimacy of your request and safety of our services. Please visit Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for more information (see “End User” definitions).
How do we use this information?
Client information is used to provide and improve our service. It is used for, but not limited to: ensuring our services are secure, prevent potential attacks, prevent fraud and fraudulent activity, detect and prevent technical issues, and to provide support.
Data Protection
We protect your data and keep it secure to the best of our abilities. We use HTTPS with valid SSL certificates for all public-facing web services and also for communication between CDN servers and our systems: your data is encrypted when sent by the browser until it reaches our servers. Account passwords are stored in hashed form using modern one-way cryptographic hashing functions. We always use widely accepted open-source libraries when it comes to encryption and password hashing. Personal data, including (but not limited to) addresses and names, may also be encrypted on-server. Nevertheless, please remember no method of electronic storage or transmisson over the internet is considered 100% secure; while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
European Citizens
European Citizens have the right to withdraw the consent from our User Agreement. Once you withdraw, you are no longer able to purchase a server, and we will not store your information. If you'd like to request your data, you may contact [email protected] and we will respond to you personally as soon as possible. The Distance Selling Act in the European Union states that European Citizens have the right to return digital products within 14 days for a full refund. This does not apply to any customers outside the European Union and/or non-citizens inside the European Union. You may be asked for verification to show proof of citizenship and/or residence.
Clients under 13
Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are under the age of 13, please have a parent or guardian to use our services on behalf of you. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us at [email protected] to request its removal.
What are my rights?
All Ember Host users and clients are to the following GDPR, COPPA, and UK GDPR complying rights: full knowledge of all data we store on you, the ability to retract any of your data, final say in whether your data is sold or not, and to prohibit us from accessing your data. If your services have been inactive for a reasonable amount of time, you may reach out to us to request the deletion of any data we are no longer required to keep.
Changes
This page may change at our discretion. If we make any changes, we will attempt to communicate it to you. However, it is up to you to check this page for updates. Changes are in effect as soon as they are posted here, and if you continue to use our services after any changes, you agree to be bound by the updated Privacy Policy.
